Who We Are Today

In 1948 Armando Leone started business at a little place named "Gigi’s" on Springfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. A few years later in 1952 he moved business to Seaside Heights on the Boardwalk and was happy to provide a quality dining experience to everyone who walked through its doors for the next 24 years.

After moving to Cape Coral, Florida in 1977, Armando started "Leone Provision Company" and soon became the premier sausage wholesaler to many of the area’s finest Italian restaurants. His sausage and fresh water mozzarella were synonymous with quality, excellence, and distinction.

In 2001 Armando suffered a heart attack and was forced to sell his business. Unfortunately, due to mismanagement by the new owners, his business fell into disarray and was forced to finally close its doors after Hurricane Charley damaged it in 2004.

In 2008 Armando and his family reacquired their business under a new name, "Leone Italian Food & Specialty," and are pleased to announce that after extensive renovations – We are open for business! Our motto is “Quality Italian foods like mama used to make!”
